SHR Musical
Director/Advisors: Ms. DiIorio and Ms. Frankowski

Each year, the school musical provides opportunity for singing/dancing students to perform on stage for an audience. This year’s musical, Bye Bye Birdie, was a huge success and involved students on stage and off. Evening rehearsals and weekend work sessions are attended by the cast and crew in preparation for these full-scale productions.

2011's musical comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone was performed March 3-5, 2011, with a special showing for senior citizens on March 2nd. The Drowsy Chaperone is an homage to American musicals of the Jazz Age, examining the effect musicals have on the fans who adore them. The Main in Chair, a mousy, agoraphobic Broadway fanatic, seeking to cure his "non-specific sadness," listens to a recording of a fictional 1928 musical comedy, "The Drowsy Chaperone." This "show-within-a-show" was a great success! Special thank you to all of the directors, students, and dedicated parents who worked extremely hard to put on such a fabulous show!
