Very important information regarding the Swine Influenza (H1N1) (posted 4/27/2009) can be found here in this document and in the links below. We will continue to make information available as it is released to us. You may also visit the Flu.gov website for more information on this and other topics.
  • During a pandemic period when increased illness may be occurring, school procedures requiring doctor’s notes for influenza-like-illness can place an inappropriate burden on the local healthcare system. The Health Department and the Superintendent of Schools Office are strongly recommending that all school districts in Hunterdon County use the newly created Return to School Note for Influenza (Flu) Like Illness (9/18/09).

Having a parent/guardian sign the note instead of a note from the doctor, which also requires verification from the school nurse, will eliminate an undue burden on health care providers and help assure that returning students meet CDC recommendations. Your use of this note will contribute to providing a healthier year.
